REZA II
Indonesia. Hybrid washed. Elegant, aromatic Canephora.
Our previous Canephora from Reza stood out with its expressive fermentation and quickly became a favorite in our cuppings. This lot reveals a very different side of his work. Rather than aiming for maximum intensity, Reza focuses on balance, clarity, and elegance.
The coffee cherries undergo a two-stage fermentation with selected yeast cultures before being washed and slowly sun-dried for more than three weeks.
The result is an exceptionally clean and elegant cup that still retains the silky sweetness and full body we love in outstanding Canephora. Expect notes of jasmine tea, grapefruit, and milk chocolate. The cup is sweet, smooth, and syrupy, yet never feels heavy. Its gentle balance and silky texture make it incredibly easy and enjoyable to drink.
Reza runs his farm in the village of Jlegong, at the foot of Mount Temanggung in Central Java. In addition to growing and processing his own coffees, he also works as a roaster. That perspective can be tasted in every one of his lots: curious, precise, and always driven by the ambition to keep exploring what Canephora can be.
